Summary: Beautiful Skylar was found in the panhandle and had given birth to kittens that didn’t survive. She nursed some orphan kittens, though, and gave them the mother’s love and nourishment they needed. It was a rough start for young Skylar, and this special cat is ready for a special home where she can be loved and taken care of.
Medical Issues: Skylar has known medical issues. She had surgery (hystorectomy) in the summer of 2019 and was spayed at that time. She has chronic respritory issues which seem to get worse with cold weather but are otherwise manageable. Her biggest issue is a lack of muscle control within her GI track which causes her to pee a little bit unexpectedly. The more comfortable she becomes in an environment, the less we notice this – as she isn’t scared to get to/from the litter box. Aside from these minimal accidents, she uses the litter box perfectly.
Update 2/6/2020 by Kristen Weaver: Skylar is making a lot of progress!
